Happy Thanksgiving to My Friends and Family
A Prayer for my friends and Family on this day of thanksgiving:
“Gracious God, like many believers before us, we complain when things do not go our way. We want abundance of everything rather than what is sufficient to sustain us. We would rather be elsewhere than where we are at the moment. We would rather have the gifts You give to others than what You provide for us. We would rather have You serve us than serve You. Forgive our lack of gratitude for what You give.”
For all the blessings we have received this year, I am indeed thankful for our freedom and liberty that, in spite of taking some severe hits, remains intact.
General Thanksgiving
By the PRESIDENT of the United States Of America
A PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favour; and Whereas both Houses of Congress have, by their joint committee, requested me “to recommend to the people of the United States a DAY OF PUBLICK THANSGIVING and PRAYER, to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness:”…”
GIVEN under my hand, at the city of New-York, the third day of October, in the year of our Lord, one thousand seven hundred and eighty-nine.

May your stuffing be tasty,
may your turkey be plump.
May your taters and gravy
have nary a lump.
May your yams be delicious,
and your pies take the prize,
And may your Thanksgiving dinner
stay off of your thighs!
Happy Thanksgiving!!
