To some how claim that a simple majority rules in the case of 'national religion' all while crying fowl when the left points to majority opinions regarding abortion rights, environment, and many others, is extremely hypocritical. but back to the point – I can’t deny that most Americans identify as Christians, but the founders wanted it OUT of government and many were agnostic and so far left for their day regarding religous views.

Though that number is down from 10 years ago, it still clearly indicates the United States is predominantly Christian.
