"The Declaration of Independence acknowledges God as Creator, Lawgiver, 'Supreme Judge of the World,' and the one who providentially superintends the affairs of man. I join the Founders in personally acknowledging the importance of Almighty God's fixed moral standards for restoring the moral fabric of this nation." - John Adams

I'd agree with that BZ.
The problem is, that is exactly what is happening... at least in So Cal. I recently made a firearm purchase at a local sporting goods chain that is usually well stocked, but they had maybe 12-15 hand guns in their display case, and the long gun rack behind the counter was barely 50% full. People across the nation are preparing for the 2nd Amendment to be repealed and are buying small arms at a fiery pace. Ammunition is now being rationed and .223 rounds are nearly impossible to acquire.

Counting on your local LE’s to respond in a timely manner is an error in judgment. Especially in the stupid state of California where government mismanagement and uncontrolled spending has created a crisis that is affecting even our border states and is creating a huge deficit in police protection. The idiots in Sacramento have created so many welfare and special interest programs; our state is crumbling under the severe financial burden. But instead of trimming the fat, they are cutting the heart right out of our state leaving the private citizen to fend for his family.

Scary times we live in... Scary times indeed.

Better arm up. If your local jurisdiction is anything like the department I work for, our Patrol deputies are getting cut almost in half.

Wow, the PI! I spent 2 1/2 years just a little north on Okinawa.

I agree Pete, and though I won't list my personal armament, I will say I offer free ventilation services for anyone who enters my house without permission.

Hey, Gary... back from my vacation to the Philippines. It was a true vacation because I hardly saw the Obama.

The scenario described above is the exact reason why we have a 357 and shotgun in the house. I know that many police chiefs supposedly don't [want] an armed populace, but as Americans the Supreme Court ruled we don't have a right to be protected from the scum on the streets. Too bad... if there is someone going to hurt my family I'm going to shoot first and ask questions later. ;)
