Rick Warren and the Presidential Inauguration Invocation

Ok, I’ve had enough. I have limited my comments regarding Rick Warren’s invitation and subsequent acceptance to offer the invocation at the upcoming presidential inauguration, but after Joseph Farah posted this article today that was adapted from a letter he wrote to Pastor Warren, I will stand in defense of Rick.

Folks, God is still on the throne, and as such is in complete control of our future according to His plan, and as a servant of the Most High, Warren will be at the right place at the right time. If Rick has Obama’s ear, then there will be opportunities to offer Biblical advice when the big decisions come. It is utterly ridiculous for anyone to say they believe God selects our leaders, and then behave in such a way as to deny the reverence due God for allowing Obama to be selected.

The right’s hatred for Obama has created such a fury of emotions, that logic and faith have been traded for fear and despair. Look, as far as I know, Rick has never compromised the Gospel, and has continually ignored fame and fortune choosing instead to Shepard his congregation from a position of humility. Who else then, could Obama ask? There are many Pastors and Priests that could do it, but who has stood for truth in spite of adverse public opinion?

Man cannot control the things of God, so let me take this opportunity to say Shut up and let God work. Let’s pray for Obama, Warren and the rest of our leaders, trusting God to navigate our course as individuals and a nation.

Pastor Warren will have the right words at the right time.

The President will have a nation to lead, and he cannot do it by himself. Whether the libs want to admit it or not, God has a hand in every decision by every national leader.

It will turn out.

In the end, we know Who wins.

Merry Christmas to the Gawfer household!

I did everything within my meagre power to keep Obama from being elected. But that doesn’t mean we try to sabotage our own country. If Obama can get some Right things done, then all well and good. Warren doing as he was invited — all well and good as well. I don’t determine he’s a “turncoat” just for that. I’m willing to take something of a “wait and see” attitude; I’m just pretty much certain of where things WILL be going. But I’ll wait until I see and hear precisely that before I do my unloading. I, you, me, we, never lose our right of dissent.

I confess to not being that familiar with Rick Warren. The fact that he is unliked by the far right and the far left means he
must be a pretty decent fellow. I caught him on C-span
this morning and was impressed, not only with his courage to speak to an all Muslim
leadership group, but in his positive outlook and lack of hate. Pretty decent fellow.

Indeed, BB.

I am fortunate enough to work with several people that attend Saddleback church, my boss in particular is a close friend of Rick’s and as such has real knowledge of Warren’s integrity.

He clearly understands that God sent His son that NO ONE should die including Muslims and homosexuals, and because of his ‘loving position, he destroys the ‘hate argument’ of liberals.

I am by no means worshipping the man, but as humans go, he’s ok in my book too.

As well, we will never elect the “perfect” person to an office. That’s why our job as citizens to be involved in politics, and life, is never done. Pastor Warren has embraced his job and his chosen path to aid humanity. He is well suited for that path and those who have a problem with his choices could learn a valuable lesson from him…

Maybe it’s because of my current location, but I am somewhat bemused by all the fuss – coming from both sides.

My first and only experience of Rick Warren is from watching the Saddleback Debate. He seemed perfectly reasonable to me. What’s the problem?

What I have observed is that there are a few people, again on both sides, who think the decision of who will be our next President has yet to be made. Put them in an empty room and they will still find something about the other candidate to argue about.

My message to those guys is that the votes have been cast and the results are in. Let’s all move on work together to get our economy up and running again and to continue to fight islamo-terrorism.

God bless!

Yea! God has gotten everyone’s attention!
Thank God Obama has chosen Warren to ask God to guide and bless him and our country in the right way to go according to God’s will. Obama had to choose someone to give the invocation. The rest is up to Obama. It is the call for us as Christians to stand for what we believe is right, but at the same time to be examples of God’s love to him and one another. That’s the best gift we can offer our country. The outcome is in God’s hands. Remember, Warren only gives the ‘invocation’…another pastor is going to give the ‘benediction’. Whatever Obama’s motivations are we can still be thankful that he chose a strong Christian like Warren to be part of this Inauguration! process. I say, AMEN!

Well there wont be any such good tidings wished upon our “new Pres.” He will receive the same respect GWB got for 8 years from the libtard nutbags… at least for a little while, I am not sure I can keep up the farce as long as they did.

Happy New Year Gawfer and Family.

I agree with the concept that the Left loved him at the Saddle Back debates, because he was non-leading, and even handed.

I also agree, I find great humor in their current vitrol.

HAHAHAHA! Or BWAHAHAHAHA!
