Clinton Democrats Encouraged to Support McCain/Palin
Sarah Palin is an energizer to the Republican ticket. Many conservatives who considered this year’s general election as nothing more than ‘a vote for the lesser of two evils’ have changed their opinion to ‘a vote for a reasonable offering’. Sarah has solidified the base and influenced moderates who are clearly afraid of an Obama presidency.
The big question is will Sarah be able to secure the disenfranchised Hillary Clinton supporters. It is easy to understand that after Clinton slammed Obama for being inexperienced (true enough), that her supporters would be dismayed to discover Obama won the party nomination, and easier still that they would feel completely disrespected that Hillary was not selected to be his VP. But the question is will they realize that brains and experience is far more important than Hollywood attraction?
Democrats for Clinton recently informed their supporters that indeed, they should be very proud of Sarah Palin, in spite of the differences of ideology.
“…The opportunity for a competent woman with executive experience to be nominated for the vice-presidency is something we should all be proud of. Yes, she may have different ideolgies than liberal Democrats. But she will not create legislation. That is the job of the U.S. Congress, and after nearly eight years of trough-slopping on the hill, it is time for them quit finger-pointing and get to work…”
“…When Hillary gave her historic speech at the U.N. Conference on Women in Beijing and said “women’s rights are human rights”, she wasn’t just talking about liberal women.
She was also speaking for all women at the U.N. in June of 2000 when she said:
“When women in some countries are still denied the right to vote, our work is far from done.
And when women’s work is still not valued, by economists, by governments, and by employers who pay them less and treat them worse, our work is far from done.”
“It’s possible that Hillary may not like Governor Palin.
She certainly possesses a more conservative ideology than Hillary and most of her supporters.
Still, the joy and excitement in the faces of women at the GOP convention was beautiful. Hillary’s historic race has inched women a little closer to a true experience of gender equality in their government. That is a very good thing…” “…I hope Hillary is proud of her accomplishment — and Sarah’s too…”
Clearly, they understand that supporting Palin over party is a vote for gender equality, and should be applauded.

You know I Really don’t like the idea of voting for gender, for gender sake. I honestly think if Women are voting for Sarah Palin because she is a woman, Please stay home. You don’t deserve to vote.
The same goes for anyone voting for or against Obama simply because he is Black.. Stay Home, enjoy your xbox or internet porn….
If you are voting for a candidate because of their ideology or their plans or their speeches then vote. but be informed, we end up with more problems when the uninformed voter votes.
I have been critical of those voting for Obama because he is black, I must be as critical of those folks that will vote for Palin because she is female. SHE is the best candidate. Nuff said.
BTW, The Raiders are looking a little like last years Raiders? Russel is getting an introduction to the NFL..
I am pulling for Denver in the game Bro, (Bets are down) But I am hoping to see a little better team in the bay area.

Brava!!! excellent article. The overwhelming feelings for having Sarah represent the fairer sex, is quite exciting. Equality never felt so sweet and rewarding!

I’m one of the pissed off Hillary ladies and, after an initial euphoria, am now a bit diffident about Sarah.
What gets me is the hints from the Obama camp that they want Hillary to take Sarah on. I believe that’s called “having your cake and eating it”.
If I were Hill, I’d be having my voicemail say, “You’ve reached the Clinton family. We are all on vacation until 5 November 2008 and will not be able to listen or respond to your message until then. Should you require urgent assistance, please contact http://www.itoldthoseguys.com.
Have a nice day”"
