Why a vote for someone other than McCain would be a vote for Obama.
First off, let me say that after doing a little research, my opinion has changed from one who thinks a vote for McCain would be a vote for the “lesser of two evils” to a vote for one whom I mostly agree with.
As a quick run down, I mostly agree with McCain’s positions on”
· Health Care;
· Abortion;
· International Aid;
· National Security;
· Social Security;
· Technology and Communication;
· Welfare and Poverty.
· Supreme Court Justices
I absolutely disagree with his position on immigration and the border, and his idea on tapping ANWR and offshore drilling. That means I agree with McCain 80% of the time.
That’s not bad.
Now, as far as Obama goes, I simply cannot get past his immaturity as a leader, his lack of moral integrity, and his complete vacuum of experience:
Recently, Obama lied about his vote against the Born-Alive Infants Protection Act and subsequently accused those providing proof that he lied as being liars.
I also found it quite interesting that when asked the question ‘when does a baby receive human rights’, he said “that was above his pay grade”. Let’s look at the current pay grade of the leaders of our nation:
Salaries for Members of Congress, Supreme Court Justices, and the President
|
As of January 2008 |
|
|
President |
$400,000 |
|
Vice President |
$221,100 |
|
Speaker of the House |
$217,400 |
|
House Majority & Minority Leaders |
$188,100 |
|
House/Senate Members & Delegates |
$169,300 |
|
Chief Justice, Supreme Court |
$217,400 |
|
Associate Justices, Supreme Court |
$208,100 |
Hmmm, as President, nobody would be above his pay grade. Integrity counts in my book, for any leader, and Obama has shown a Clinton/Edwards way of reasoning.
His list of friends and aqaintances:
· Reverand Jeremiah Wright;
· Father Michael Pfleger;
· Louis Farrakhan;
· Bill Ayers;
· Bernadine Dorn;
· Tony Rezko;
‘nuff said.
Further, while Obama enjoyed a beautiful week in Hawaii boogie-boarding and eating ice cream with his children, Russia invaded a sovereign nation decimating complete cities. BHO had no background or experience to rely on to make a reasonable judgment or sound decision regarding his position; rather his senior political analyst speaking on his behalf stated that “a full understanding of the situation was required before making a statement, and shooting from the hip as McCain did may have exacerbated the situation.” Well, as a leader, sometimes a ‘quick draw’ is necessary to dissuade one’s adversaries, and a skilled gun fighter has more credibility than a greenhorn like Obama.
During last Saturday’s Saddleback Forum, I found it very interesting that when providing a reason for choosing Clarence Thomas as the Supreme Court Justice he would NOT have confirmed, his first sentence was “I don’t think that he was an exper…a strong enough jurist or legal thinker at the time…”
Not enough experience? Talk about calling the kettle… ah, never mind. So what was Clarence Thomas’ body of experience when he was nominated for SCJ?
“…By the time he was nominated, Clarence Thomas had worked in the Missouri Attorney General’s office, served as an Assistant Secretary of Education, run the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and sat for a year on the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals, the nation’s second most prominent court. Since his “elevation” to the High Court in 1991, he has also shown himself to be a principled and scholarly jurist…”
Ok, so I am convinced that Barack is completely incompetent to lead any business venture; much less the United States of America. Why then would a ‘no vote’ or a ‘write in candidate’ be a vote for Obama?
Easy. There are staunch Conservatives and staunch Liberals (aka adults and children) who will always vote their party line. The candidates are counting on that and are not courting their base.
The target group of people is those who are in the middle; (aka pubescents); or those who have yet to make up their minds. If a candidate’s base begins to fall apart, it is nearly impossible for that candidate to make up the difference from those pubescent ‘middle of the road’ folks. Further, understanding that those on the liberal side of the isle are merely adolescents, it is clear they will always vote their emotions rather than reason and logic meaning the ‘Movie Star Obama’ would likely win, and the constitution would lose; specifically, the 2nd amendment. I’m not ready for that.

I agree, we must stand behind what we consider the best choice. Refusing to vote or writting in will only help Nobama. I do wish we had a better candidate, but it is what it is.

I wish that the left was as adamant about Hussein Obama as a lot of us are about McCain. McCain is NOT the leader I want in the W.H He is not the man I want deciding our future. BUT he is the better of the two and I will reluctantly check his name.
I also think WE as “Right” minded thinkers need to take a lesson from this and NOT allow this to happen again. WE need a choice We need a difference between the two that stands out. We deserve it but WE have let complacency take root and our libtards have taken advantage of it.

I agree Rob. I was thinking about how McCain made it to the forefront so quickly, and then I remembered how it came down. Most of the decent candidates dropped out before we even had a chance to vote in our primaries, and Huckabee threw a wrench in the machinery by staying in just long enough to force Romney out.
I think what we witnessed was the GOP deciding early on that McCain was the man… perhaps even as far back as the 2000 election when he first ran. It didn’t matter that Hunter or Thompson had the curb appeal to the base.
In the past, I advocated a national primary, to be held the first Tuesday in May; noon to midnight EST, 9:00am to 9:00pm PST, and 6:00am to 6:00pm in Hawaii. Same time frame everywhere, and every vote counts.
All the candidates run, everywhere and we as a party decide equally. No more of the crap where a candidate doesn’t do well in New Hampshire so they drop out before the rest of the nation has a say.
I believe that is how we’ll take our party back from the bureaucrats.

It is indeed a sad state of affairs, and here’s some other nifty beliefs that I hold:
-It’s not going to get better any time soon.
-The left has succeeded enough to royally screw up this nation for decades to come.
-obama represents the core beliefs of the left: big government, higher taxes, and incompetent leadership.
I’m NOT a big fan of McCain, especially his stance on the border catastrophe, but I would much rather see him at the helm of our nation than obama. I think McCain would do the least damage.

Well I can agree with that, I am very unhappy with our choice but its the choice we are stuck with.. We can change that choice too, all we have to do is revolt, we have to take to the streets and demand it, we have to be willing to dump tea in the ocean so to speak.. dont see that happening.
