The Idea of Racism in the New Media
The issue of racism once again seems to be in the forefront of our society. The liberal left has long pursed the idea of oppression of certain races; and not one to ignore a good bi-line, the media is quick to jump on anything that looks like this insidious ideology because after all, drama sells.
The idea of racism is rooted in the tainted history of the United States and its willingness to buy and sell slavery in its very early years as a nation. After the civil war, the residual animosity toward blacks was sufficient to keep this idea alive; feeding off the guilt of white America. What has been completely left out in the condemnation of this country is the fact that over 400,000 white Americans gave their lives to secure the freedom of Black Slaves.
So after wracking my brain in an attempt to understand why some fellow bloggers cannot seem to get past this issue, I began to realize they are simply a product of higher learning from our liberal, Marxist colleges, and have no life experiences to balance their liberal education. As an example of the current ideology present in the hallowed halls of universities:
a. “The subjugation of the academy was an important step. As Marxist theoretician Antonio Gramsci understood by the 1920s, the communist revolution had failed to ignite and spread across the Europe. For the west to fall, it would first be necessary to capture the institutions of its cultural hegemony.
By a stroke of good fortune, an educated class rose up to man the supply chains of this intellectual assault. From their redoubts in academe and the media, the ideas of atheism, exploitation, oppression, racism, sexism, homophobia, and fascism could be promoted until the culture lost its self-confidence and collapsed from within…”
“In Capitalism, Socialism, and Democracy (1942), economist Joseph Schumpeter foretold that under capitalism, the universities would educate a surplus of people beyond the numbers required to fill the available inputs in the labor force. These intellectuals would fall between the cracks: They would be too proud to perform manual labor, but also be unable to find professional employment commensurate with their tremendous sense of self importance. This would leave them underemployed and disgruntled.”
So the question that begs to be asked is how did our great institutions of higher education become so anti-American?
b. “Like everything else, its Nixon’s fault. Cognitive dissonance forced college kids in the 1960s to become radicals in order to (over) justify their not wanting to serve in Vietnam. Many ducked the draft by staying in school and stuck around the coffee shop long enough to be issued Ph.D’s. that led naturally enough to a career in the cozy cocoon of college. Since their beliefs were never tested in the real world (school was the only environment they ever had known), they never outgrew them. Instead, they lucked into a niche in the one area of the world they could spout off and others (impressionable young students even more ignorant than they) would be forced to listen. In this superoxygenated environment, their egos began expanding exponentially.”
“Soon, the university became a straightjacket that provided insufficient scope for these professors’ egos and their need to feel relevant and important. No longer content with merely teaching their assigned subject areas, they transformed the university from ivied ivory tower into a catalyst for social change. This meant discarding the old notion of the university as a haven touting a passionate political agenda of their own choosing-a new order where they’d be on top because they had all the answers.
By this point they had punched the clock long enough to have tenure, so there was no stopping them-at least on campus. The outside world barely noticed, except on occasion when something completely ridiculous happened, and it crashed into the newspapers…”
Some bloggers have become so full of themselves believing their way of thinking is the ONLY acceptable way, they have forgotten that this country is full of Americans with a vast array of life experiences that contribute to their personalities, consequently pouring out in their own blogs.
Many times I read things that I disagree with, and will frequently voice my opinion of disagreement. I have not the time or inclination to debate however; rather a presentation of varying ideas without an incessant probing and argument is what I am interested in. if someone disagrees with my opinion, so be it. I do not write this blog to convince anyone to believe anything. I am not a reporter providing an unbiased explanation of the news; go to FOX NEWS for that. I write to convey my thoughts and ideas. If it doesn’t suit ones own ideas, find something else to read.

I see not one word to be critical of, unless you happen to be one of those professors that is trying to pervert the beliefs of our young people..
Remind you of anyone??

A narrative of heavy duty proportion!!! I agree with you on the college issue. Some people need to get into the “real world” and see how things are. They are too protected by their college “fortress”. Great blog!!!

Nice new site!
“Professor” my arse. Call me a snob, but being an associate professor at a community college it not the height of academia.
And therein lies the rub: the man’s a bush league pinch hitter – and it’s killing him.

You know truthfully I think we are wasting a lot of time and effort on an insignificant POS.
The start of the whole thing was between two people, as it is always, then friends go voice their opinions and the “TWO” usually go on their separate ways.. all is forgotten in a week or so…
Not this time, one idiot has to go changing procedure.
The college professor is like the little kid in the hood that wants to be apart of the club, but he offers nothing but whining and crying when things don’t go his way…
pretty damn pathetic if ya ask me.

Ben Stein continues to impress. Your stance is clear, and you’ve always presented a pretty level-headed approach to things. Nothing critical to say on this one…

You guys can make snide comments about Dr. Douglas, but he’s in the mainstream of Conservative thought. You’re just a bunch of extemeists.

@ Keith,
Sorry dude, but the only ‘extremist’ (correct spelling btw) is the young man whom you refer to. His incessant attacks are all one needs to make that conclusion.
Here’s a condensed recap for ya. He originally pointed out and criticized racist remarks made by Texas Fred. Fine. But he then went further calling for Texas Fred’s blog to be shut down because of those comments.
I did not defend what Fred said (and keep in mind, nobody at any time has defended those comments, ever). Fred’s a grown man who can defend himself; I did however, defend Fred’s right to say what he said, (free speech and Voltaire’s reference). Robert did the same. That subsequently brought the ire of your glorious conservative upon Robert and me. And not just us, but everyone that is listed on the Reject the UN blog roll (which I am not on). To Don’s credit, he did retract his calling for Fred’s site to be shut down, but then became obsessed with getting the rest of us to renounce Texasfred. (I will not be forced to say anything. Period.)
Now keep in mind, this all began in early June, and on several occasions, your glorious conservative was advised by many people both publicly and privately to LET IT GO. He has subsequently posted numerous articles slamming Fred, Rob, me and others.
I don’t know you Keith, but I would suggest you do a little research through Don’s site going back to early June, and reread the posts and comments made. Then note to yourself, you are half way through August, and Don is still on the attack. Now ask yourself, who is the extremist.
I wrote this post as an explanation to how and why certain people feel they have some superior level of morality over their fellow man (Elitist) and concluded that in some cases it is because of graduate and post graduate studies from liberal colleges (eg UC Santa Barbara). I did not link to anyone’s blog or point my finger at any specific person. The commentors here who have recently been harassed by Don were quick to see a connection.
Keith, you are welcome to comment on any post as long as you keep to my rules. But your ad hominem statement “You’re just a bunch of extremeists” (use spell check next time) will not be allowed again.

Well that was just a proper hand slap.* shaking head * Poor Kieth.
Well, you know what they say G, those that can do, those that can’t teach. I hear DD is a teacher????
Poor Students.
We are on the extreme end? the hell you say. Some would say that’s the REAL PROBLEM!
The Republican party, has moved too far left and abandoned the true conservative values that secured Republican leadership.
Those that Keith feels are the “Mainsteam” Conservative are Faux Conservatives at best, they cry about border issues but don’t want to do anything more than whine, that is not a conservative value, that is a liberal trait. Those of us that want to secure our border by any means necessary are branded “Racists”. RINO’s less taxes yet raise them, they talk about less government yet there is MORE now than ever…. RINO’s Worse than a Libtard and Keith, DD is head RINO, blow his horn all you want.

You asked me to read, and be critical.
Well, I can’t be critical of your stand – it makes good sense, and this is an outline of where you come from.
I can’t disagree with anything you’ve said. (well, besides not wanting to be edited and banned, I don’t think you’ve said anything that is not true.)
I’ll try to be critical, though. Ready?
You type with a funny accent.
