Harvest Crusade 2008 Anaheim, CA
Last night started with an hour long ride on the ‘Sled’ (‘07 FLHX), with my eldest daughter on the back to Anaheim Stadium where we rocked and worshiped with the following groups.
The event began with Indie Rock Group Leeland laying down a 45 minute pre-show mini concert that was impressive. Leeland was my daughter’s favorite, and yeah, they were very good.
Then Kutlass performed about 5 songs that were world class.
Lincoln Brewster led us in some serious praise and worship.
And finally, P.O.D. did a set that rocked the stadium, tearing the wall paper off! These guys are not for the faint of heart, lol! I’ve linked a you tube video for each.
Three weeks ago, Greg’s son Christopher Laurie was taken from us. But his artistic input into the crusade was phenomenal, and clearly, his memory was laced throughout the evening.
Greg reported that 2800 people were introduced to Christ Friday night; and it seemed there were at least double that last night on the outfield after the invitation. The one thing that struck me was that Greg said God doesn’t send people to hell; people go out of their way to get there, virtually climbing over Christ in an effort to ignore Him. Kinda like driving through signs and barricades telling you the bridge ahead is out, then passing the workmen frantically waving their arms trying to get you to stop; but you proceed anyway… to your death.
I guess last night was the real ‘come to Jesus’ moment for a bunch of folks. Welcome to the family ‘bunch of folks’. Your life will never be the same.
That was Chris’s hope. See you soon Chris.
